The joy and wonder your young heart knew When the holy angel first came to you, What a price for you to obey What Heaven asked of you that day. Fearful moment for God and man As the Spirit came and life began, There He grew safe within Your mother’s heart had room for Him. Place of refuge filled with the love Of a little mother and the Father above As often His pain has made me sad, The thought of His first home makes me glad. Thank you for raising our little King For the loving home you made for Him I appreciate the home you made All the mother’s love you gave. Thank you for giving Him time to play To laugh and grow day by day For letting Him be a child for a time That precious little King of mine. For teaching Him words to say And sharing life’s treasures along the way For guiding those little legs along And showing Him right from wrong. Thank you for raising Him for me Thank you for preparing Him to be My Sacrificial Lamb.
