How deep the darkness How much longer the night I faint away Longing for the Light Where is the Voice I know so well Instead, all I hear Are voices from Hell Where is the Bread That gives me life I feed on pain, Fear and strife. I look for peace But find only war I do not provoke Yet my wounds are raw. Where is He For whom I live Where is the Grace He promised to give. The strength I seek Eludes me more Oh God, I long For an open door. I rebuke the night Only to be mocked Here Forever Will I be locked. My cry continues What shall I do? Where oh God? Where are You? Time and again I cry from within Searching for Some hidden sin. Save me oh God! I cry aloud Life to me Hangs like a shroud. Life or death I long to find Desperate I look For peace of mind
