They came by night
They came by day
They came to take
My life away.
They said You
Were’nt pleased,
Your Heart
I had grieved.
As they approached
And gathered round
The face of each
Wore a frown.
Angels of light
Dressed in white
Came to me in
A faithless night.
“You’ve failed again
It’s plain to see
The verdict again
Is guilty.”
They reminded me
Of all I had done
To dishonour
And fail the Son.
Remember My love
Took care of sin
To the law of death
They’ve turned you in.
The verdict now
Is “Not guilty”
I took your sin
At Calvary.
Believe My Word
I cannot lie
On it forever
You can rely.
