I was brought up in a religion, which for the most part put me off ‘God’. As a teenager I became involved with drugs. I emerged from that some years later with a feeling of emptiness. This led to an early suicide attempt. Soon after that I became a Christian due to the reality of a Divine visitation of Jesus. I loved Him dearly and wanted everyone to have the chance to know what He really is like and to choose Him for themselves. I thought I had rejected Christianity when in fact I had never really encountered the Christ of Christianity. I served Him for years and that journey was at times wonderful but also had its hard times. I guess the main reason for this website is to touch anyone out there who has no hope, for whatever reason. Those who may have given up on themselves trying to be a Christian, or those who have never wanted to be one. My passion is for all people to at least meet Jesus before accepting or rejecting Him. I believe in freedom of choice in any area of life but especially this one. I found that in some areas of Christianity in general, only the positive and successful part is promoted, leaving a whole lot of people alone in pain or lost in the dark believing there was only one side and that they were failures. My early Christian years found me believing in a ‘positive only’ experience of faith, where there was no place for disappointment, failure or human frailty. After a season of huge stress and struggle and a lot of failure I came to understand that Christianity not only has its good side but also and its perplexing side. This reality check gave me a more fully orbed and balanced perspective on the Christian Life. In someway I hope through this Website to share my own journey showing not only the positive side but also helping to discern what are the false expressions of man made religion disguising itself as true Christianity. These poems that I have written are a collection of the stories describing my experiences and my hope is that they will help and encourage people in their journey in finding Jesus in a more real and personal way.
